Acquisition and investment in new technologies positions NexKemia at the forefront of the EPS industry

Mansonville, Quebec, July 30, 2021. NexKemia Petrochemicals Inc. has announced today that it has acquired the technology and has made substantial investments to develop and produce specialty expandable polystyrene resins (EPS) and sustainable styrenics alternatives. These new materials, now in development, will continue to differentiate its offerings from anything currently available in Canada, Mexico, or the United States.

Since its founding in 2008, NexKemia has established itself as an industry leader in the development and production of commodity expandable polystyrene (EPS) resins. With its latest acquisition of this top-of-the-line extrusion technology and its installation of state-of-the-art production equipment, NexKemia will soon be offering a broad and diverse range of exciting new value-added EPS products to the North American marketplace.

EPS is known for its excellent physical properties, low energy consumption and FDA compliance. Its lightweight and proven performance makes it suitable for a wide variety of markets and applications including building & construction, geofoam, appliances, automotive and packaging to name a few.

The new and improved value-added EPS products include:

• Improved thermal property EPS utilizing graphite resin.
• Deeper colored resins for improved branding options.
• Sustainability version, which incorporates post-consumer recycled content.
